Irish FreeFrom Food Awards – Magazine coming soon!
The FreeFrom Food Awards are Ireland’s only awards dedicated to the FreeFrom sector and are open to entrants from across the island of Ireland.
Judging takes place in March and in 2018 over 600 entries were put before 40 judges throughout a two week period.
The judging panels include coeliacs, parents of FreeFrom children, nutritionists, dietitians, foodies, bloggers and chefs.
This year FreeFrom Food Awards will launch a new print and digital magazine for people who require a FreeFrom diet. The team behind the Awards and the magazine will be at the Gluten Free Ireland event in the Stormont Hotel on Saturday 6th October to meet with those seeking information on products from the FreeFrom market.
“The FreeFrom Food Awards is focused on industry growing and excelling. More producers are now aiming their products at the mainstream market – many are producing products for general sale which happen to be FreeFrom, this fills a substantial need in the market.
We see the industry going above and beyond with excellent quality foods for those who are coeliac or who have a diagnosed intolerance or allergy,” says John Burke, himself a lifelong coeliac. “Adding a magazine to the mix gives us the opportunity to inform people not just about products but to impart tips, information and share experiences that FreeFrom people will value, to ensure they can enjoy as good a lifestyle as possible, despite the challenges of a dietary need.”
FreeFrom Food Awards Ireland were established independently by John Burke, a lifelong Coeliac.
The FreeFrom Food Awards, were started in the UK in 2007, being the only industry awards for FreeFrom foods, by Foods Matter and FreeFrom Foods Matter.
