Rasharkin, a small town in County Antrim, north of Ballymena, recently played host to a Gluten Free Information Evening, organised by Kennedy’s Pharmacy. Opened in 1997, Kennedy’s is the towns’ and surrounding areas’ source of gluten free food on prescription.
Around a dozen local and national brands took part in providing information and samples of gluten free food to over one hundred visitors who attended the evening.
The Millside Restaurant from nearby Cloughmills, provided free catering for the night and was very well received with their dedicated and adaptable gluten free menus.
Gluten Free Ireland took a table for the evening to provide information on where to eat out locally and to highlight the many gluten free brands now available, alongside a range of nutritional information providers, cake producers, local shops and national brands.
Following such a successful evening we are looking forward to the Marine Hotel gluten free open day in Ballycastle, forty minutes north of Rasharkin.
